Beekeeping 101
This classroom or optional (virtual) based course offers an introduction to honey bee biology and beekeeping basics. The course covers honey bee castes, races, pests & diseases, beekeeping equipment, and seasonal management necessary for a successful year.

Identifying and treating common bee pests and diseases
Various bee products you and your bees can make

Text materials will be provided.
We provide a package of reference materials on critical topics.
A brief exam of material covered.
In addition to the classroom teaching, we are including an installation demonstration, at no additional cost in May 2020 that will show you how to install bees into a hive and inspect an already established colony. Virtual class participants will receive a link to installation videos which will properly prepare them for installation and inspections. The location of the planned demonstration will be held at the Bees Galore Apiary in Maple City, MI., and will be scheduled in the spring as conditions permit.
